I’ve landed back in Hong Kong after a being away for most of the summer, and have really felt the pull of rushing, doing and making things happen. All this doing rules so much of our lives. Even the chatter of my thoughts over the past few days is a constant pulling to get this newsletter out to you all – pulling me into doing mode.
In a recent message from my teacher Tim Goddard where she shared this wonderful idea from Leunig, she also says “we live insane lives… even our downtime can become something we have to achieve at, an identity that has to be promoted by being “interesting”.” Does this sound familiar?
So I am so happy to be offering some options to be less ‘interesting‘ – to others and the outside world, and allow ourselves to be instead ‘interested in our inner experience‘, in the company of others wanting to do the same, and with some helpful guidance from the teaching team. Not because we want to be selfish, rather, to allow this inner work to bring us more clarity and presence when we are in the world.
We have two retreats to share
Would you like to join us and experience the ‘joy of missing out‘, while leaning in and listening to whatever bubbles through you as you sit, walk, recline or move. Relinquishing the effort to become someone, and opening to the possibility of being more rested, relaxed, and nourished.
- September 13 – Day of Mindfulness in Tung Chung and
- October 17-19 – Pause and Relax 3-day retreat in Lantau.

Turn down the volume of the outside world, whilst supported and surrounded by nature. This teacher-led day of mindfulness is an opportunity to practice present moment awareness in a sustained and calming way.
We welcome those with experience and those new to meditation to come together and practice in community. The schedule includes variations of sitting, lying down, mindful movement, mindful eating and mindful walking practices.
When: Sunday, Sept 13, 2026
Where: Tung Chung
Teachers: Angie Bucu & Nadine Anderson
Cost: We ask for $100 deposit to secure your space. The teachers offer this day of practice on a donation basis.

The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers. ~Thich Nhat Hanh
